Rugby Rules are Easy to Learn for Everyone
There are many sports out there that are not very simple. People always find them complicated and the fact is that it is usually the case with American football. It is an amazing sport, however people find it confusing at first. Rugby is exactly the opposite. It is a sport that has few rules and once those rules are learnt then you are all set. That is why so many people can play pick up rugby with friends and that is why there is such a following of rugby in North America, despite the dominant American sports that people are more excited about.
Rugby has a couple of major rules. The biggest rule is the fact that you cannot pass the ball forwards. While that may seem bizarre, it is not at all. The ball can only go backwards while players must run forwards to try and score a try (or touchdown as it would be in American football). This makes it a lot more challenging as players must go past each other but then pass the ball backwards to their teammates and yet still build forward momentum to score a try.
Rugby also consists of scrimmages whenever there is a foul and whenever there is a try there is a free kick afterwards that can earn you a few extra points. These are the basic rules of rugby and with them you are sure to have a successful time playing. There are outs and the ball is thrown back in after an out where a mini scrimmage may end up being the result. There are always technicalities in the professional game, for which referees are needed. But, to play rugby and to enjoy it these are the only rules you need to know. That is brilliant and it is exactly why everyone loves rugby. The information party rocks on: Could rugby take off in the US?
